MANILA, Philippines — ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo and physician Willie Ong lead an independent survey for senators conducted before the end of 2024.
Tulfo, running under the Administration ticket, secured a 41 percent voter preference among all potential 2025 senatorial candidates, but his trust rating declined slightly from 32 percent in the third quarter to 27 percent, according to the Pahayag 2024 senatorial survey from Publicus Asia.
Ong of Aksyon Demorkatiko, with a 39-percent voter preference, and returning senator Panfilo Lacson are tied statistically in second place.
Former Senate president Vicente Sotto 3rd, Sen. Bong Go, and Sen. Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano follow in the survey.
Rounding out the possible magic 12 are broadcaster Ben Tulfo, Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, former senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, former senators Francis Pangilinan and Paolo Benigno Aquino IV and Sen. Francis Tolentino, who edged out Sen. Imee Marcos from the previous quarter.
According to Publicus, Marcos, Senators Ramon Revilla Jr., and Lito Lapid, have experienced declines in both voter preference and trust ratings compared to previous quarters.
The survey, which was conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, used purposive sampling composed of 1,500 respondents randomly drawn from the panel of over 200,000 registered Filipino voters maintained by the Singapore office of PureSpectrum, a US-based panel marketplace with a multinational presence.
