MANILA, Philippines — Newly-minted PBA Governors’ Cup champion TNT intends to bring back Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as its import for the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup.
“Close to 100 percent,” TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa said, when asked by the Manila Times on the possibility of Hollis-Jefferson’s return in the mid-season conference.
Each team is allowed to bring in an import with no height restrictions.
The left-handed Hollis-Jefferson led the Tropang Giga to the back-to-back Governors’ Cup championship on Friday after beating the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 95-85 in Game 6.
TNT won the championship series, 4-2.
The 29-year-old Hollis-Jefferson averaged 25.8 points, 12 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks in the Finals.
Hollis-Jefferson also won his second Best Import award, beating Ginebra’s resident reinforcement Justin Brownlee.
