MANILA, Philippines — Amid a health scare on the first day of his 2-day concert, veteran singer Gary Valenciano announced on Sunday morning that he was proceeding with the second show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum as scheduled.
“I will be at the Araneta today. No weapon formed against me will prosper!” he said.
During the first evening of his concert on Friday, Valenciano had to cut his concert short because of dehydration, which his wife Angeli confirmed on her social media platforms that evening.
“He ingested something and vomited so many times in the last two hours. He wasn’t sure he could do this concert. The doctors were backstage and he had an IV… and he said he wants to do it! But he has since sang six songs.. changing the repertoire … please continue to pray,” she wrote at the time.
On Sunday, Angeli said she and the singer are both heading to the concert venue for the second night of performances.
Valenciano, known as Mr. Pure Energy, is holding a 2-night concert in line with his 40th anniversary in the music industry.
