MANILA, Philippines — San Beda University overpowered the Arellano University, 79-65, to start its second round strong in the NCAA 100 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Saturday.

Bismarck Lina flaunted his form and put up 20 points, and seven rebounds to help the Red Lions avenge their first round loss against the Chiefs.

Team captain Yukien Andrada added 15 markets and five rebounds, while San Beda’s go-to gunner made a double-double performance of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Red Lions asserted its dominance early in the first half after obtaining a 41-29 lead.

The men in red shirts kept its cushion and held a biggest lead of 27 points, 68-41, courtesy of the trio of Lina, Andrada, and Puno.

Arellano was led by Lorenz Capulong and T-mc Ongotan, who made 16 and 10 points, respectively

San Beda improved to a 7-3 win-loss card, while Arellano fell to a 3-7 slate.
