Philippine Soft Tennis Association (PSTA) president Lt. Col. Bobby Moran and team manager Jaekoo Yoon presented the Philippine soft tennis team that won the bronze medal in the men’s team event at the World Soft Tennis Championships to its benefactor BGen. Antonio Tamayo, chairman emeritus of the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in Las Pin̈as City on Thursday.
The national athletes and coaches expressed their deep gratitude to Tamayo for the unwavering support he provided to the team which has been instrumental in their success.
The year 2024 has been remarkable for the national soft tennis team as it consistently brought home medals and trophies from every tournament they participated in.
The Philippine men’s team is composed of Joseph Arcilla, Dheo Talatayod, Patrick Mendoza, Adjuthor Moralde II, Samuel Nuguit and Sherwin Nuguit with Wenifredo De Leon and Michael Enriquez as coaches.
This is the first time that the Philippines had won a medal in the team event at the World Soft Tennis Championships.
