MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday that it has not monitored any tropical cyclone or low pressure area (LPA) inside or outside the country’s area of responsibility until the weekend.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja said the northeasterly windflow – wind coming from the northeast that carries mild temperature – is affecting extreme Northern Luzon.

In particular, the weather system is bringing overcast skies with rain over Batanes, Apayao and Cagayan.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be experiencing isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms in 24 hours, the state-run weather agency said.

“It would be another generally fair weather in most parts of the country all throughout the day except for isolated downpours in the afternoon or at night,” the Pagasa forecaster said.
