MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday that it has not monitored any tropical cyclone or low pressure area (LPA) inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in two to three days.

Weather specialist Rhea Torres said in a 5 a.m. advisory that Pagasa spotted cloud clusters over areas in Visayas and Mindanao but they were expected to dissipate within the day and would not directly affect the country.

She said the easterlies – winds coming from the east and passing through the Pacific Ocean that carry humid and warm weather – were affecting the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas.

More areas in Luzon, including Metro Manila and eastern Visayas, will be experiencing scattered or isolated rains and thunderstorms due to the weather system, the state weather bureau said.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, would likely have partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, it added.

“Generally, the country would again experience fair weather in most parts of the archipelago except for isolated downpours during late afternoon or at night,” Torres said.
