A STARTUP incubator backed by the MVP Group has added five new firms to its portfolio as part of the 12th cohort of its flagship accelerator program.

Ideaspace Ventures channeled investments to property management firm Collo, logistics service startup Flying Tigers Express, inventory-keeping firm Itemcount, remote work management firm Remotify, and insurance claims processing startup Swiftclaims.

“The rigorous selection process highlights the resilience of these startups. Despite facing the downtrend challenges of 2023, they have persevered, truly embodying this year’s theme,” Ideaspace executive director and Cohort 11 alumnus Jay Fajardo said.

This investment was said to signify the company’s commitment to growing the startups.

The five firms are expected to benefit from comprehensive support, including mentorship on business operations, guidance on fundraising strategies, and insights into effective marketing and sales strategies.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Cohort 12 startups into the Ideaspace family,” Ideaspace President Rene Melly said.

“The strength of our network, which connects founders, mentors, and the broader MVP group, will undoubtedly drive us to greater heights,” he added.

The Ideaspace Accelerator Program was said to have supported over 700 startups and fast-tracked over 250 businesses since its inception in 2012.

Tech-driven marketplace for premium spices Molinos de la Especia is one of the most notable alumni of the program, along with virtual community hub for growth Hey Roomie and Kazam.ph, a platform connecting homeowners and domestic workers.

In November, a new 13-week accelerator program will commence with a demo day during the Philippine Startup Week 2024 (PHSW24).

The upcoming PHSW24 was said to be aligned with Ideaspace’s mission to support local startups through its partnership with various government agencies: the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
