MANILA,Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced a road closure on a major stretch of Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City on Sunday and will remain closed until 2028 as part of the ongoing implementation of the Metro Manila Subway Project. The MMDA said under construction was the Tandang Sora Substation, which would be built at the northern portion of Metro Manila.

Presently, construction is being done at the North Avenue and Quirino Highway Substations.

A road diversion is being mapped out by the MMDA, as well as a traffic rerouting, to help ease the expected heavy traffic.

The Department of Public Works and Highways and the Traffic Management Plan will also rehabilitate the southbound lane of EDSA.

While details remain unclear such as the exact place and the scope of the repairs, construction will start in March and will finish before the end of the year.
