MANILA, Philippines — Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to visit areas hit hard by Typhoon Marce in Cagayan today, Malacañang said.
The severe weather disturbance pummeled the province earlier this week, with Signal No. 4 hoisted in the northern portion of the province including the Babuyan Islands, the northern portion of Apayao, and the northern portion Ilocos Norte.
More than 6,400 families (17,958 people) in 23 towns and one city in Cagayan province were displaced, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said.
The President will be accompanied by several Cabinet secretaries.
Marcos earlier placed all frontline government agencies on high alert to ensure the speedy relief, rescue, and rehabilitation of those affected by the typhoon.
