PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday joined the nation in celebrating Eid’l Fitr, recognizing it as a time of dignified worship, deep reflection, and solemn prayer for the Muslim community.
In his message, he encouraged Filipinos to embrace compassion and inclusivity by extending help to those in need, echoing the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
“In spirit, the Festival of Breaking the Fast is more than a celebration; it is a testament to our desire for shared humanity, strengthening bonds of family and friendship, as well as unity among our peers,” Marcos said.
“Beyond the values that Ramadan emphasized, let us continue to be inspired to extend our hands in service, uplift those in need, and help find joy in those who seek it,” he added.
He reminded every one of their responsibility to one another, urging citizens to embody dedication and faith in building a more equitable and peaceful country.
“As you pause for supplication, let us not forget our responsibility to one another. May the acts of kindness, engaging conversations, and delightful activities that bring communities together define our actions moving forward,” the President said.
“Let us continue to embody the virtues of dedication and faith so we can foster a
more equitable and peaceful Bagong Pilipinas. I wish you a reverent observance,” he added.
The Bangsamoro Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulrauf Guialani announced over the weekend that Eid’l Fitr will be officially observed on Monday, March 31 after the crescent moon was sighted during simultaneous observations conducted by designated moon-sighting teams of the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ in various locations in the Bangsamoro Region.
