The low pressure area (LPA) spotted off Palawan has already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but it still affects the province, the state-run weather agency said on Monday.

Weather specialist Rhea Torres of Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the weather disturbance was estimated some 120 kilometers north-east of Pagasa Island, Kalayaan, also in the same province (outside PAR).

It only affects Palawan where cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would prevail, the Pagasa forecaster said.

Although the national weather agency had already terminated the northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ season, it said that northeasterly winds are currently affecting Batanes in extreme Northern Luzon.

Meanwhile, the easterlies – winds coming from the east and passing through the Pacific Ocean that carry warm and humid weather – will be affecting most parts of the country within the next 24 hours.

Easterly winds are bringing either scattered or isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the state weather agency said.

Generally, the entire archipelago would be experiencing fair weather conditions all throughout the day except for isolated downpours in the late afternoon or in the evening, Pagasa said.
