MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Kristine affected 5.7 million Filipinos, according to the latest situation report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The agency said 5,784,298 individuals or 1,415,438 families in 8,895 villages were affected by the storm. It said 91,189 families took shelter in evacuation centers.

The NDRRMC said that based on reports, 79 people died, 33 were injured and 26 were missing.

The storm also affected 520 road sections and 84 bridges. It damaged 27,640 houses.

Damage to agriculture was pegged at P1,432,229,305.62.Estimated damage to infrastructure was P825,130,698.

A total of 158 cities/municipalities were placed under a state of calamity.
