MANILA, Philippines — JCo Philippines, in celebration of its 12th anniversary, will hold the JCo Run 2024 on November 10 at the Mall of Asia concert ground in Pasay City.
Race organizer Rio Dela Cruz said that the online registration period is already closed, as participants reached the maximum number of 6,000 just 15 minutes after the announcement of re-registration on Monday.
‘We must limit the participants. Since this is the first time JCo holds a fun run, we have to consider the safety of all runners. Your favorite donut company has lineup-side activities and surprises along the way,’ said Dela Cruz.
Event categories include 3-kilometer, 5-km, and 12-km.
“We decided to put up the 12 km as the main event since we’re celebrating our 12th year of existence in the Philippines. We choose fun runs as one of our main activities because we believe in the saying that health is wealth. Kailangan natin ang balance sa ating buhay, we must enjoy eating donuts then go out and exercise to stay healthy,” stressed Jericho Eva, JCo Assistant Marketing Manager during the event launch on Tuesday at JCo store in Glorietta 2 in Makati City.
Joining them in the program are showbiz and health buff couple Juancho and Joyce Pring-Trivino both early registrants for the 12-km main event.
“We find running as stress reliever. Juancho is the one regularly jog, talagang pinipilit niya akong samahan siya kaya kahit ayaw ko napapasama na ako which later I find it good sa aking health.” said Joyce.
Juancho expressed his gratitude to JCo Philippines for putting up a program that is beneficial not just for regular runners but also to simple health buffs as it gives a new avenue for them to sustain their goal to be healthy and competitive
“Thanx JCo. Mas lumalaki na rin ang community ng runners and this is an additional avenue for them to strive more and continue their goal of being fit and healthy,” said Juanco.
Eva said with 6,000 participants the company expects a huge success similar to the activity done in Indonesia – JCo’s headquarters — last month.
“Although the number of participants is not as huge compared to the Indonesia event, I think yun success sa organization eh kaya nating i-match o baka mahigitan,” Eva added. TMT
