MANILA, Philippines — Faith Nisperos used her experience in playing with the national team and made an impactful return with the Akari, helping the Chargers clinch their first victory over Galeries on the opening day of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.

After missing out the Reinforced and Invitational Conferences, Nisperos returned in the PVL stage and chipped in 16 points all on attacks.

For the 24-year-old Alas-Pilipinas hitter, she wants to apply all the learnings that she carried in playing with the national team.

“It all boils down to the confidence that I gained during my Alas stint. The skills every day during our training, but the very thing that I carried over with my Alas stint is the confidence,” she said during the post-game presser.

“As long as I have confidence with myself, and with my teammates, I can contribute to the team.”

Nisperos went berserk in the fourth set after scoring nine out of her 16-point outing to prevent the Galeries from forcing a decider, 28-30, 25-15, 25-16, 25-23.

“Of course, will use every opportunity. We’re willing to give it all. Of course, every time we step on the court, every moment matters, so we have to give 100-percent of our effort all the time,” she said.

Eli Soyud led the statistical sheet of the Chargers with 21 points, highlighted with six blocks.

Three Chargers had an identical 16-point outing as Grethcel Soltones, and Ivy Lacsina also added the same number, while Dani Ravena made a double-double performance of 11 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.

On Galeries’ side, Julia Coronel showed that she’s not only limited as a setter after showing her offensive side and putting up with eight points, along with nine excellent sets.
