MANILA, Philippines — Former Senate president and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile was found not guilty of plunder on Friday stemming from a multibillion peso pork barrel fund scandal.
The decision was handed down at the Sandiganbayan’s third division.
Also found not guilty were his former chief of staff, Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes and businesswoman and convicted plunderer Janet Lim Napoles.
The ruling capped off a 10-year plunder trial for Enrile, Reyes and Napoles.
