MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala of the Philippines finished the 2024 season placing 149th in the world.
According to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world rankings, Eala’s rank rose six places to 149th on December 9 from 155th on December 2.
Similarly, she also finished on the same rank on September 16.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Eala reflected on her season, particularly her two titles at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) W100 tournament in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, capturing both the singles and doubles championships.
Along with that, she also broke into the world’s top 150 women’s tennis players, having achieved a career high 143rd last July 22, as well as participating in all Grand Slam qualifying events.
“There is still so much I want to achieve but, I can’t help but be proud to see how far that little girl has come. From traveling around the Philippines, to traveling around the world, I’m so thankful for the journey, to be healthy, and to be surrounded by so much love and support,” Eala wrote.
She said she will look forward to an “even better” 2025 season.
